I'm a designer based in the Bay Area, with roots in Brooklyn, NY. I moved out to the Bay to pursue my dream of becoming a designer. It all began in NY when I took several web usability and information architecture courses that introduced me to UX design principles and skills. I loved the idea of helping people with design so much that I knew I had to make it a career.
I got my first design position when I joined Elementum. Because the UX team was only 3 people, I learned many skills very quickly, and my designs matured in tandem. I learned valuable design philosophy and techniques from the amazing individuals on my team.
At 23andMe, I have been able to further develop my design skills by taking features from wireframe boxes all the way to visual designs. I have developed a new appreciation for designing interfaces that are user-friendly for older customers, and I learned a lot about how to present complex concepts in a way that can be understood by individuals from a large range of educational backgrounds.
On the personal side, I am a mentor for the iMentor program in San Jose and I love rock climbing, cats, traveling, and crocheting.
